Exploring Breakthrough Recovery with Gina Masterson’s Neubie Bioelectric Stimulation

At the Natural Health Network, we’re thrilled to introduce Gina Masterson, MS from Finish First Injury Prevention Specialists, who shared her expertise on the powerful Neubie Bioelectric Stimulator during a recent Instagram Live. Known for her background in research, nutrition, and injury recovery, Gina is pioneering new ways to support recovery and enhance overall wellness for clients, including athletes, children, and those recovering from injuries or dealing with neurological conditions. Here, we’ll dive into what makes this device revolutionary and how Gina uses it to transform client outcomes.

The Power of Bioelectric Stimulation for Holistic Recovery

Gina first introduced the Neubie machine to the Finish First practice in 2018, focusing on those with neurological disorders, genetic conditions, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and post-surgery recovery needs. The Neubie is not just another electrical stimulation device; it taps directly into the nervous system, activating muscles in a way that traditional TENS units can’t. This distinction allows Gina to tailor treatments to each client's unique needs, achieving results that go beyond what conventional therapies offer.

How the Neubie Bioelectric Stimulator Works

Gina explains that the Neubie uses direct current (DC) stimulation, providing a more effective muscle activation and recovery process than other stimulations. During treatment, she maps the body to identify “hotspots” or areas of muscle dysfunction that have developed due to injuries or chronic stress. By resetting these affected muscles, Gina re-educates the body, addressing the root cause of dysfunction to prevent compensatory patterns.

Real Results from Real Clients

One compelling case study Gina shared involved a client with a longstanding shoulder injury that limited their range of motion and functionality. With the Neubie machine, they achieved a significant recovery that wouldn’t have been possible through standard therapies. Such success stories underscore the machine’s potential to promote healing, even for clients with long-term or complex issues, including those recovering from TBI or living with MS and Parkinson’s disease.

Comprehensive and Customizable Treatment Plans

Gina's approach includes an initial one-hour session, followed by 45-minute follow-ups, with a frequency that depends on each client’s specific needs. Acute injuries might require multiple sessions in a short time frame, while maintenance plans can extend to weekly or bi-weekly visits. By customizing home exercise regimens alongside in-office treatments, Gina helps clients maintain their progress between sessions.

Holistic Services Beyond the Neubie

Gina also offers a foot bath treatment that enhances blood flow, reduces swelling, and accelerates healing for minor injuries. The foot bath has shown impressive results, even helping her daughter recover quickly from a sprained ankle. Another technique Gina incorporates is the master reset—a method that gently shifts the body from the sympathetic “fight-or-flight” response to the parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” state. By placing gentle current pads on the feet and around the vagus nerve, the master reset provides stress relief and aids in recovery.

Who Can Benefit from Bioelectric Stimulation?

This bioelectric therapy is suitable for a range of clients—from athletes looking to optimize performance, to children and adults dealing with neurological challenges. Gina emphasizes that bioelectric stimulation offers real advantages to clients with chronic conditions, including those with complex neuromuscular disorders. However, she advises against this treatment for those with pacemakers, certain medical conditions, or active cancer.

A Flexible Payment Model for Accessible Care

Neubie Services at Finish First operate on a cash-pay basis, but clients can often utilize Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and submit claims to insurance for potential reimbursement. Gina and her team are committed to making this advanced care accessible to those who can benefit from it.
